God Has A Blessing For You

Deuteronomy 28-1:5

28 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God: 3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. 4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. 5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.

The blessings of Deuteronomy 28 are preached often but the part that seems to be overlooked is the very first line… “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands…” This doesn’t say some, partial, or only the commands you like/agree with. His word says to fully obey. This is a blessing because God gives us the pre-requisites to His blessings. Just like there are pre-requisites you must pass to advance in school, there are also pre-requisites to the blessings of God.

Many of us faint because we don’t understand the process of God. God is so loving that He wouldn’t give us anything we aren’t mature enough to handle; therefore, the process of God is important. We can show God the value we have for Him by the effort we make to fully obey His commandments. Honor is important because it helps us understand that God doesn’t just accept anything. God doesn’t accept any lifestyle, any offering, or just any praise. God, His House, and His altar are valuable and we must not devalue them.

If God is your Heavenly Father, where is His honor? God wants a covenant relationship with you and once you understand that God has blessed you to live and allowed you to breathe, it won’t be hard for you to give God His honor. It is the goodness of God and the mercies of God that has kept you thus far. There comes a time of accountability and responsibility in regards to your relationship with Him. We all start off immature in our walk with Him but we should be growing in maturity over time. God will always look for His honor and His reverence because He is worthy of it. There are no gimmicks and games in God. God is the one that keeps you, He’s the one who sustains you. If you think back over your life you will remember moments that He kept you and carried you. God isn’t hard to please, He just wants to know that you understand He’s the one who’s been with you and will stick with you! God loves your praises!

God plans is not for you to struggle but to live the abundant life. However, there is a part we must do first; we must align with His word and be diligent in doing so. It’s easy to get distracted with all the influences around us but your faith in God should be greater than the people you roll with! Remember who keeps you no matter the situation or circumstance and praise Him through every season. Honor is the key that unlocks the treasures of Heaven!
