Hunger for The Word

Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of GOD”. We must feed on God’s word daily so we can grow and develop into mature Christians. Just as natural food provides and supplies nutrients for us to grow physically, such the same growth happens to us spiritually when we feed on God’s Word.

The treasure has been in you all along

My friend, if you really knew how much power it is within you! If you really knew that when you received Jesus, He didn’t give you part of Him…He gave you all of Him! Genesis 1:26 reads,  26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

If you catch this love and hunger for His word, I can guarantee that you will be at another level in your life. I am always hungry for His word, girded by it, and fortified! This is imperative because when the enemy comes up against me or you, he will test our faith and we have no choice but to raise up a standard. We have to be so confident and solid in our relationship with God, that when the tempter comes we ask,  “Satan do you know who you ran up on? You just back up! The Lord has already rebuked you!”.  You will never have victory over what you don’t fight for. Victory is not going to come by just a means of saying it, it’s going to be some stomping sometimes. You are going to have to take the word and speak it while you walking around your bedroom, home, church, or job. This year I challenge you to make a prayer closet. Write down everything you’re believing God for and get pictures of your loved ones, and hang both sets up. The saying, “out of sight of mind” holds to be very true. You need to see them. There is a spiritual warfare, but know we win! In the name of Jesus, God I thank you for everyone that will do this act of faith. I ask that you bless and put your hands on them.

2 Timothy 2:15 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some”.

Study and spend time in your word because you are going to need it. How would you ever win a battle you are never prepared for? It is now up to you! You can never say that I didn’t tell you! YOU WILL NEED THE WORD OF GOD TO STAND ON DAILY! You are in a fight, and nothing ever comes easy. You must work hard at developing knowledge and understanding of the word. Our weapons are not carnal but they are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds! Know that anything that gets in your way, you can command it to get out of your way. Although it may form in the natural, it has already failed. There is no failure in the word! Until next time my friend, be blessed.
