The Power of Pentecost

Acts 2:1-12 New Living Translation (NLT)

The Holy Spirit Comes

2 On the day of Pentecost[a] all the believers were meeting together in one place. 2 Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. 3 Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. 4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages,[b] as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability…

Pentecost is the day the Holy Spirit descended onto the Apostles so that Jesus would be glorified among nations. The Holy Spirit empowered The Apostle Peter. Peter preached to thousands of people in Jerusalem and converted them. He had an unction through and by the Holy Spirit to function with the power of the Holy Spirit. This power will cast out devils, lay hands on the sick, and cause people to recover. This is the power Jesus Christ used to perform miracles. So why are we only hearing messages about personal gain? What about The Power of The Holy Spirit? That is the importance of Pentecost, we remember and we memorialize the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not a feeling. The Holy Ghost is a person who empowers us to do the same things that Jesus did. The church has great power but we have taught it like heresy. The bible says in the book of Matthew that the traditions of men have made The Word of God of no effect! God gave us the power to use for His glory. He expects the church to move in power through and by the Holy Spirit. The power of Holy Spirit comes to bring change. It will deliver the whoremonger, the acholic, the drug addict, the fornicator, the adulterer, etc. It is power to help us change when we can’t change on your own!

Everybody is going through something but everybody is not coming out of it. Some people stay in the same cycle of similar situations 10 to 20 years without a breakthrough. Well, the Holy Spirit was given to the church and the body of Christ not to just empower us; but to take the edge of life off. You know that edge that causes people to form bad behaviors, addictions, and trouble. Sometimes we experience so much pain that we don’t even know how to pray for what we need. This is why receiving the Holy Spirit through the evidence of speaking in tongues is so important. The tongue is a Holy language. The Holy Spirit takes hold of you and begins to use you to make intercession. He will use you to make intercession for your family, your nation, and those situations we worry about. The Holy Spirit will use you to make intercession for yourself.  In the English language or any language, our knowledge is limited but there are no limitations in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is here to guide, protect, and convict us. He is our companion. Fellowship with Him and watch Him transform your life in ways unimaginable!

I encourage you to read Acts 2 concerning The Pentecost. It will really bless you as you begin to learn about the power given to us on this holy day!

Until next time my friend,
